An inactive area on Piraeus St. near Moschato is formed to a residential area with local reference with a neighborhood character by taking into consideration of the special characteristics of the urban planning sections on either side, the industrial zone and the social housing. The proposal is developed in the form of a backbone that penetrates the plot, in such way that the intervention tries to connect these two elements. In the center, a square is formed with the regeneration of the existing abandoned preserved industrial building, where an amphitheater and collective activities are developed. Two residential areas are formed on the sides of the square, with the greatest possible coverage in a balance of closed-open spaces (residences/patios), consistent with the scale found in the near area. The residential zones are mainly aimed at families with young children and the elderly, which they bring into contact and coexistence, through triangular synapses of different types of housing that are joined by outdoor movement corridors both at ground floor and floor level, interspersed with open spaces and greenery. The complex is completed with the creation of an axis that penetrates the square and a local market and the workshop spaces.
